Sex therapy can look different for everyone, depending on their unique needs and experiences. Generally, it focuses on addressing distress, discomfort, or challenges related to sexual behavior, identity, or relationships. Some individuals seek sex therapy to explore and enhance their own pleasure or intimacy with their partner(s). Others come to process and cope with changes in sexual functioning, while many seek support to heal from trauma and reconnect with their bodies. It’s important to note that sex therapy is a form of talk therapy and does not involve any physical contact.
